Scavaro for families

Scavaro is an indoor scavenger hunt game for kids that you play on your TV with one remote. Here's how to use it for rainy days, playdates, birthday parties and "I'm bored" afternoons.

At a glance

  • Everyone plays on one screen. A challenge appears on the TV and is read aloud. Everyone searches the house and races back with something that matches.
  • Race or team up. Keep score for a friendly competition, or turn scoring off and hunt together.
  • Little ones to grown-ups. Picture challenges for preschoolers, tricky thinking challenges for older kids and adults.
  • Private by design. No accounts, ads or tracking. Player names and saved games stay on your device.

What you need

Set up a game

From the home screen, choose New Game, then set each option with the arrow buttons on the remote (or tap it on a tablet):

  1. Where: Home. Scavaro picks challenges that make sense around the house.
  2. Difficulty. Pick the level that suits your players (see Choosing a difficulty). Playing with a mix of ages? Choose Mixed.
  3. Packs. Choose one or more packs to play with. See the packs below.
  4. Keep score. Turn it on for a race, or leave it off to play as a team (see Two ways to play).
  5. Game length. Choose 5, 10 or 20 rounds, or Endless to keep going until everyone's worn out.
  6. Start. If you're keeping score, you'll name your players first. The How to Play screen comes up next. Go over the rules together, then choose Start Hunt.

Two ways to play

Race each other

Turn Keep score on and choose 2 to 8 players. Each player picks an animal character, like a fox, panda or unicorn, and can add a name if they like. When someone gets back with a match, press OK and choose who found it. The scoreboard keeps track, and the player with the most finds wins. If the wrong person got the point, choose Correct round to fix it.

Lots of kids at a party? Make teams and give each team one player.

Hunt as a team

Leave Keep score off and everyone works together. It's great for little ones, siblings who are far apart in age, or anyone who'd rather not have a winner and a loser. At the end, Scavaro shows how many things you found together.
